Enjoying Summer Fun in Lebanon!

It was with great excitement that Kids Alive Lebanon welcomed the Kids Alive International team from St. John’s Church, Walmley in Birmingham to lead one of its summer programmes!  It was the team’s second visit and it was lovely to welcome old and new!  The boys, as ever were eager to get into the programme and find out the theme of the Bible club.  This year the focus was on ‘Jesus the light of the world’.  The kids learned about what this meant and how they also could be 'lights' in their families and communities through being transformed by God.

It was exciting this year to be able to invite some of the school children to join the summer program.  The school children brought an added dimension and were a real blessing!

As well as Bible clubs there were afternoon games, crafts and trips out.  This year one of the highlights was spending the day at the beach.  The boys loved splashing in the sea (and splashing team members!) and had a great time.  The summer programme ended with a special treat – a visit to McDonalds!  It was a great way for staff, team members and boys to spend some informal time together cementing friendships that had grown over the previous two weeks.  One team member shared: ‘It’s been amazing, I can’t begin to describe how special this time has been!’  Another said ‘It’s been wonderful to be back and yet again God has spoken to me through these boys!’  We thank God for the provision of teams, for people that generously give of their time and gifts to come and serve the children here in Lebanon.  It is a wonderful blessing to us all – thank you!
