AFTER LOSING HER MUM AND GRANDMOTHER, ANGEL* SUFFERED ONGOING ABUSE AND NEGLECT.
Can you help children like Angel get "Justice that Heals" so she can live safely and without fear?
Angel is a lovely 9-year-old girl from a rural region of Kenya. She was abandoned by her mum aged 3 and then taken in by her loving grandma, who sadly passed away a few years later. Angel was then sent to a new home, where she tragically faced recurring abuse and extreme neglect.

Everything began to change when Angel courageously reported the abuse to a trusted family member. The authorities intervened, removing her from the unsafe environment and referring her to the care of Kids Alive in Kenya.
Your donation will help us to pursue justice for Angel, as we provide trauma care and support for her. But after all that she has been through, Angel frequently experiences panic attacks and recurring nightmares. And despite being very bright, has difficulty concentrating in school. These are all classic signs of childhood trauma. Angel’s brain struggles to operate in a ‘rational’ mode, so as we work to get her education back on track, we also need to provide her with specialist therapy.
What is "Justice that Heals"?

"Justice that Heals" is a new project in Kenya to bring justice and healing for child victims of sexual assault.
About 50% of children in Kenya suffer physical or sexual abuse. The journey to justice and healing is uncertain, leaving them vulnerable to continued harm, with no support to help them recover.
Our team in Kenya have recently formed a partnership with a Christian organisation called Justice Ventures International (JVI), who specialise in pursuing justice, while we specialise in trauma care.
Too often, children are left to navigate both trauma and legal systems alone without the support needed to move forward.

JUSTICE AND HEALING ARE NOT GUARANTEED FOR CHILDREN IN KENYA
- Abuse often goes unreported or unresolved.
- Legal systems can feel overwhelming and inaccessible.
- Without trauma care, recovery is incomplete and justice is hard to get.
- Without justice, the risk of continued harm remain.

HOW YOU CAN PROVIDE JUSTICE AND HEALING FOR CHILDREN LIKE ANGEL
- Trauma therapy and care.
- Legal advocacy and court accompaniment throughout the whole process.
- Family strengthening and social work support.
- Identity-centred care that reminds each child they are created in God’s image and have a future filled with hope.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
