Urgent appeal for displaced families in Beirut, Lebanon

As you may be aware, thousands of families have been displaced across Lebanon, with many fleeing the affected areas of Beirut as the bombing continues.
These families are arriving with almost nothing. In the chaos of leaving their homes, many were only able to carry the bare minimum. Parents are now asking us for basic essentials for their children — underwear, nappies, food, and blankets.
Many families are now sleeping on the streets, sheltering in overcrowded school halls, or staying with relatives who are already living in very difficult conditions.
Our Dar el Awlad school and complex in eastern Beirut remains safe, and we are using it as a base to reach out to vulnerable children and their families in the area. Because we are close to many displaced families seeking shelter, we can quickly deliver vital supplies directly to those in need.
We urgently need your support to purchase food and other essential items.
Please consider supporting this appeal and helping us bring comfort, dignity, and hope to displaced children and their families.
Any donation small or large will help us support displaced families near our Dar El Awlad Centre in Beirut. Here are some examples of what your donation can do.

If you give £20
£20 provides a mattress or blankets for displaced families
A gift of only £20 can buy a mattress or blanket for someone to prevent them having to sleep on a hard pavement or school hall floor

If you give £50
£50 provides a week of food for a displaced family
Families are fleeing their homes in fear and don't have time to gather the essentials. Your donation will enable us to provide food for a family for a week.

If you give £100
£100 will fund a supply of 25 packs of nappies
Your gift of £100 will allow our team to buy essential, unexpected supplies to families, such as nappies, for those with babies or toddlers.
£250 will help us fund “whatever is most needed”, especially female and baby hygiene products

"This is worse than last time. The bombs are so intense - and there are many more displaced families, as so many have fled from the Dahieh suburbs of Beirut itself, as well as the south.” - Kids Alive Lebanon member of staff
Your donation of £20 is enough to fund a mattress for a child forced to sleep on the street

The sheer noise of the bombs going off has re-traumatised many, as well as the uncertainty of not knowing when they can return home or what they will return to.
If it is safe to do so, our team will pray with the families we serve as we distribute urgent supplies (Lebanon is the only Arab country where Christianity can be legally shared).
Many of the families are deeply moved by Christians reaching out to them and being shown love and kindness at such a difficult and violent time.
So please be assured that your donation – no matter how large or small – will make a tremendous difference. It is often in these darkest times that God’s light shines the brightest.

Please can you pray?
- For God’s protection over our staff, the children, and their families
- For wisdom and guidance in every decision we make
- For peace in the hearts of the children who are afraid
- For the strength to continue this ministry in challenging circumstances
Thank you for your kindness and compassion
