An award towards our work in Lebanon from the World Day of Prayer England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christians who come together to observe a common day of prayer held on the first Friday in March each year, and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service. Prayer services will be held throughout the UK on March 4th 2022.

Part of the constitution of the WDP England, Wales and Northern Ireland states that they are able to award a number of grants each year to registered Christian charities, to assist their projects throughout the world. We made an application and were absolutely delighted to receive a grant of £2,000 towards our work with vulnerable Syrian refugee children and their mothers in Lebanon.

We are especially excited as these funds can help support our outreach work with the impoverished and vulnerable mothers of the children we work with, many of whom live an isolated and lonely existence in a country where they generally don't feel very welcome or listened to. Our friendship groups and coffee mornings provide an outlet for them to ‘just be themselves’ and to feel loved, accepted and have a voice.

With food inflation running at a frightening 300%, we will also use the funds towards our emergency food distribution programmes for the most vulnerable of the families we serve. Not only do these provide a lifeline to them, but also enable us to befriend and witness to them, and pray for them as we distribute the food parcels.

Prayer is at the heart of Kids Alive International and our work around the world, so we are humbled and honoured to have received this award. Thank you World day of Prayer!

We know a number of our supporters are real prayer warriors, so we would encourage you all take part, we certainly will!
