LEBANON

In Lebanon, some of our youngest learners arrive having never set foot in a classroom, having grown up in tents without access to early education. Today, those same kids are rolling, shaping, and squishing playdough into letters, discovering the alphabet through laughter and hands-on learning instead of lectures. As they press tiny fingers into bright colours, they’re not just memorising symbols, they’re experiencing what safe, joyful, healing education can feel like.

Each letter builds fine motor skills, patience, and the courage to try again when something doesn’t work the first time. As teachers gently guide them through trial and error, children begin to see themselves as capable and creative, not defined by hardship or displacement. This simple activity is another way Kids Alive is helping children in Lebanon grow in confidence, hope, and a sense of belonging.

KENYA

When children from the Nairobi and Karundas Hope Centres came together in Kenya, they brought with them very different life experiences. Some grew up in crowded informal settlements, others in surrounding rural communities. It was a time for connection and learning from others, opening the door for growth, understanding, and healing.

Through the spiritual, emotional, and financial support of Kids Alive, staff created space for these children to meet, share life, and learn side by side. Together, they focused first on their connection to God—understanding His love for each of them—and then on extending that same love to one another. Children and staff explored what it looks like to live with care and respect in their spiritual lives, emotions, physical well-being, and relationships at home and in their communities.

As relationships deepened, children learned that selfishness brings no lasting reward, but selfless love plants seeds for the future. As these lessons are carried home, families are beginning to feel the impact, and hope is growing that this love will continue to ripple outward—bringing lasting transformation to families and communities across Kenya.

ZAMBIA

At our Christmas party in December last year, a local pastor shared a message and prayed with the children as they joyfully presented dances, songs, and a nativity sketch telling the story of Jesus’ birth. The day was filled with laughter, worship, shared meals, cake, and the giving of simple gifts—books, pencils, and pens—each one a reminder that every child is seen and valued.  

Moments like these reflect the beauty of community, faith, and bonds that mend—where children are surrounded by love, celebration, and the hope of Emmanuel, God with us.

GUATEMALA

In Guatemala, many children enter large institutions not because they lack family, but because caregivers don’t have the support they need. This month, Kids Alive Guatemala took a hopeful step towards changing that future.  

We signed a 5-year agreement with the Guatemalan Secretary of Social Welfare to strengthen the country’s foster care system and prevent further institutionalisation of children. Through this partnership, Kids Alive International will work with the government to place 15 children into safe, loving foster families, offering the stability, belonging, and justice every child deserves.

PERU

Pietro, a 15-year-old with a mind that travels through centuries, has always been captivated by the stories ancient civilisations leave behind. His fascination with architecture and history has shaped a drawing style that is detailed, patient, and full of movement, every line reflecting discipline, purpose, and beauty. Through his sketchbooks, he studies how people of the past built worlds that still inspire us today, learning not just to draw, but to understand.  

At Kids Alive Peru, Pietro is growing in confidence and finding space to explore his gifts. Recently, he painted a large canvas of a serene beach at sunset, and a Kids Alive collaborator purchased it, marking an important milestone in his artistic journey. This encouragement fuels his dream of creating a graphic story that teaches others to value history, art, and imagination. With support, he’s learning new techniques, setting goals for his future, and discovering how creativity can shape his path.  

Even as he dreams of mastering palette-knife painting, Pietro also hopes to study marketing or business, fields he believes will help him blend creativity with leadership and purpose. His advice to younger artists is simple and wise: “Don’t give up.” At Kids Alive Peru, this resilience is nurtured every day, reminding us that education opens doors for young people and builds strong, hope-filled futures.

HAITI

The first day of the school year is always filled with possibilities, but for our students in Haiti, it is also a reminder of God’s faithful protection and the hope that steady, safe education brings. On that day, students, staff, and parents gathered in the campus cafeteria to begin the year the way they begin so many days at our Kids Alive school: with praise and thanksgiving.  

As the room filled with worship, children settled into a sense of belonging and calm, surrounded by trusted adults who care deeply about their growth. After this spiritual moment, the community listened to words of encouragement from Educational Coordinator Mr Raymonson and National Director Mr Robenson. Their message was simple but powerful: this year holds opportunity, and together we will pursue success, purpose, and fruitfulness.  

For children in Haiti who face daily instability, these rhythms of prayer, learning, and community matter deeply. They create an environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally, with the steady support of Kids Alive Haiti and our commitment to education.
