Lebanon families find hope – your generous support to our November appeal brought vital relief when they needed it most

Your kindness in action – 10 photos that tell the story

Thank you to everyone who generously gave to our Lebanon Appeal for Displaced Families last November.

We’ve recently gathered photos from the project and wanted to share a few powerful moments that show the real impact of your support. As you can see, your kindness made a huge difference at an incredibly difficult time — thank you!

It was heartbreaking to see so many families displaced, many at short notice. Unsurprisingly, the children arrived in Beirut in a very distressed state.

Most families made their way to school halls, but many others lived on the open streets, some very close to where we are based.

Conditions in the schools were grim. They were extremely smelly, with many families sharing just a few sinks and toilets, sleeping on a blanket on a hard floor.

Your support provided essential emergency supplies - food, mattresses, hygiene items, and even head lice shampoo during a school outbreak.

You also enabled us to distribute hundreds of mattresses. It was great to see our residential boys helping us whenever they could.

We were able to pray with many who had never heard about Christianity before. This woman was especially anxious as her husband remained in the south despite heavy bombing. We prayed for his safety.

Offering practical and emotional support to mums in school playgrounds was especially well received, and we were grateful to be able to pray with them too.

Thanks to your support, we hosted a Christian leaders conference at Dar el Awlad to plan support for returning families.

Our New Horizons project in the south miraculously survived the bombings, but many families didn’t. Your support helped us host a gathering with mums to plan how best to support them.

It was such a celebration when we were able to re-open all of our projects, the kids were overjoyed to be back!

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:10
