As the war in the Middle East continues to bring uncertainty and suffering, we would like to share an update and ask for your prayers for our ministry in Lebanon

As instability increases across the Middle East, here is a brief update on what is happening in Lebanon and how the Kids Alive International programmes there are being affected.
- The situation is intense, with many explosions close to our Dar el Awlad Centre in Beirut, despite it being in a relatively safe Christian suburb.
- As in the 2024 war, hundreds of thousands are fleeing the south, including some from our New Horizons project.
- Some are travelling for 24 hours (as it is virtually impossible to get any petrol/diesel). We heard about one poor young woman having to give birth en route.
- Thousands have fled the Dahyieh suburb of Beirut, where many Hezbollah members live and where the bombings are especially intense.
- We’re starting to see them arrive in droves in Beirut, some heading for the public schools, which are closed for classes but remain open for displaced families. Others remain on the streets, while some are crammed into small apartments with relatives.
- It really is quite chaotic.
“It seems worse than last time. Bombs are falling like crazy, and they are so close.”

How our work is impacted
- We have had to temporarily close our school at Dar el Awlad and our New Horizons project.
- We are working hard to secure emergency food and essential supplies in anticipation of possible shortages.
- Plus evacuation and medical contingency plans for the 35 or so residential children at Dar el Awlad.
- We’re trying to secure contingency housing and shelter for staff and families.
- We’re in talks with other Christian NGOs/charities to respond collaboratively as needs grow.
Please can you pray for us?
- That the whole situation will end quickly and peacefully.
- That God will protect the children we serve and their families, all of whom have already endured much suffering and trauma as a result of war. And of course, our staff.
- That God will anoint the team as they establish how we can best respond to the crisis.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your support. We really do appreciate it!
