The latest update from our team in Lebanon, an inspiring video from Country Director, Denise and prayer requests

27th March 2026 - Thank you to all of you who have been praying for our work in Lebanon and the situation out there.  We thank God that in Beirut all of our staff, the children, and their families are safe, and that there have been no bombings in our immediate vicinity.

We have even been able to reopen our school and the Lighthouse Project, although decisions about whether to remain open are made daily.

For many pupils, simply walking back into the classroom was an emotional experience. Teachers could see the weight of the past week written on their faces, as one of them quietly said:  “Why should we study if we might die soon?”

Teachers and staff spent time encouraging pupils and listening to their fears, reminding them that their lives and futures matter deeply, even in the middle of uncertainty.

We have also started reaching out to some of the displaced families, offering urgently needed food vouchers, supplies and prayers. And psycho social support.

Please watch this short but inspiring video message from Denise, our Lebanon Country Director.

“Our communities are showing incredible strength in the middle of very difficult circumstances,” said Denise Dagher, Country Director for Kids Alive Lebanon. “Families are opening their homes to one another, and our staff are doing their best to support children who are scared and uncertain about what tomorrow will bring. We are grateful for the prayers and support from around the world that allow us to stand with these families and continue serving our community.”

As the situation continues to evolve, the Kids Alive team remains focused on the safety of children and staff, maintaining food and essential supplies for families, and supporting households navigating displacement and uncertainty.

Leaders are asking supporters around the world to continue praying for protection over children and families in Lebanon, for wisdom for caregivers and teachers supporting children through fear and uncertainty, and for peace across the region.

Please can you pray for us?

  • Protection for our staff, children and the families we serve, especially for their mental health and morale, as the war is leaving them demotivated and anxious.
  • In particular, pray for the safety of the children whom we serve in the south (and their families), as they remain in heavily bombed areas and have nowhere to go.
  • For the daily bread of the families we serve, most of whom have piecemeal jobs, which have been very scarce due to the war.
  • For the displaced families who are staying in tents, and for our ability to find resources to help them.
  • That God will be honoured as we bring them not just food but salvation and hope in Him.

Thank you so much for your prayers and your support. We really do appreciate it.

"On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers."
