Kenya Update: The Mitaboni Children's Home

12th November 2012

It was good to make another visit to the Mitaboni Children’s Home today and to see the very encouraging progress that is being made! It was also an opportunity to share the impact of the Home with staff members from Ernst and Young’s Jersey office (pictured right with our Home Manager), which recently raised more than £10,000 for Kids Alive International International’s education projects in Africa!

Three years ago, when we took on managing the Home, there were 10 children. Now there are 23 resident orphans and vulnerable kids, plus another 12 from the community receiving support with education and a daily meal. And there are plans for expansion, with another 17 orphaned children to be enrolled as soon as child sponsors are found!
