Urgent appeal for essential maintenance work at our Dar el Awlad site in Lebanon, serving vulnerable Syrian refugee children and their families

Following a recent visit by our CEO to our ‘Dar el Awlad’ centre in Lebanon - which serves about 250 impoverished and traumatised Syrian refugee children and their mothers – it became apparent just how desperate this wonderful project is for some basic maintenance work.

We are therefore asking if you would kindly consider making a donation towards our Easter appeal. We are trying to raise £6,000 for new kitchen storage and a further £10,000 for the electrics. We have already managed to find £3,000 of this thanks to some wonderfully kind supporters. The smallest amount WILL make a tremendous difference.

As the ever-worsening economic crisis in Lebanon causes havoc especially with those on the fringes of society, our emergency food distribution programme has become a lifeline to many.

This has put extra pressure on our catering facilities, but sadly our kitchen storage needs urgent refurbishment - some of our units are literally falling apart (they are over 50 years old!).

The electrics are in particular need of a complete rewiring. This is a job we have put off for too long, as we have prioritised other urgent things such as food and transport.

As the situation in Lebanon descends into further chaos, life for those on the edge of society has become even more difficult. Even the essentials are a financial stretch. If families are able to find a job, the minimum wage is barely enough to buy their bread and the security of their homes is at stake, with rent money being diverted to food. For the refugee and the stateless in Lebanon, hope is a word they stopped using long ago.

Please make a donation towards our appeal here.

Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we are seeing tremendous fruit in our ministry to serve these vulnerable refugees, as the Lord continues to bless our work out there. So if you are able to give towards this magnificent project, we would be so grateful. God bless you and thank you.
